Building the Tallest Statue of the World

Days to go

Work with us to build the tallest statue seen so far, and put India on the world map.

Welcome to one of the largest cultural and civic projects of the modern world – the Statue of Unity – the world’s tallest statue.

The Statue of Unity is a 182 meter tall statue of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabbhbhai Patel, currently under construction in the Narmada district of Gujarat. The Statue of Unity has been conceptualized as a tribute to Sardar Patel's visionary ideologies of unity, patriotism, inclusive growth, and good governance. It will act as a globally recognized symbol of the Indian identity and heritage. More importantly, it will not just be a mute memorial, but will act as a catalyst to accelerate socio-economic growth in the Narmada region using tourism as a key tool, benefiting the resident tribal and rural population.

In addition to the statue complex that includes the iconic sculpture, a thematic memorial garden, lush green lawns, an edutainment center focusing on Sardar Patel’s life and contributions, and a 3-star hotel, the project is expected to spearhead the development of infrastructure for promoting education, research, health, rural and tribal development in the region. As a bonus, the Statue of Unity will put India on the world map due to its sheer size, thus providing a huge boost to tourism.

The Sardar Vallabhbhai Rashtriya Ekta Trust (SVPRET) is a special-purpose vehicle created by the Government of Gujarat to oversee the execution of the Statue of Unity project. Below are some highlights of the project:

  • Rich bronze cladding on the Statue that will give it a fine, aesthetically pleasing look
  • Fast elevators to reduce transit time for visitors
  • A three-level base of the Statue that will comprise a memorial garden, and a large continuous museum/exhibition hall containing exhibits that focus on the life and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
  • An observation deck, situated at a height of 550 ft from river bed, that will accommodate up to 200 people at a time. It will provide visitors a panoramic view, enabling them to see the beautiful Satpura and Vindhyachal mountain ranges, the 212 km long Sardar Sarovar Reservoir, and the 12 km long Garudeshwar Reservoir
  • Facilities to provide access to the Statue via a 5 km boat ride
  • A large modern canopied public plaza, comprising food stalls, retail kiosks and other amenities to provide visitors a well-rounded tourist experience

To realize a project of this magnitude, we ask for the support and contributions of citizens, members of the global Indian diaspora, and organizations who would like to participate in history in the making. Please contribute today, and work with us to build this iconic monument that symbolizes Indian pride and unity.
